You know you want to go to college or a university. With Keystone as your partner in education, you'll have access to all the resources you need to succeed in high school, earn your high school diploma, and plan for college.
For the college-bound student, Keystone offers:
- Core Courses — Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.
- AP Courses — Earn advanced standing or credit for colleges and universities.
- Honors Courses — Gain a deeper understanding of certain subjects and get a competitive edge when applying to your school(s) of choice.
- Foreign Language Courses — Satisfy the requirements of many colleges.
- Electives — More than 20 to choose from! Begin exploring areas of interest that you may want to pursue in college.

Course Selection Guidelines for College Bound Students
The Keystone course selection guidelines meet the needs of most college bound students. However, we strongly recommend reviewing your final course selections with a Keystone Admissions Representative prior to enrolling.
Language Arts
Language Arts requirements may be met with any combination of Progression Courses and Options.
Language Arts Progression:
4 Credits Required
English 1 (1 credit)
English 2 (1 credit)
English 3 (1 credit)
English 4 (1 credit)
Math
Algebra 1 and Geometry are required. Algebra 2 is highly recommended. For additional math credits, select courses from Options.
Math Progression:
3 Credits Required
Algebra 1 (1 credit)
Geometry (1 credit)
Algebra 2 (1 credit)
Science
Biology and Chemistry are highly recommended. To meet the three credit Science requirement, select an additional course from Options. Note that many colleges require a lab component.
Science Progression:
3 Credits Required
Biology (1 credit)
Biology Lab (0.5 credit)
Chemistry (1 credit)
Social Science
American Government and World History are recommended. To meet the four credit Social Science requirement, select two additional courses from Options.

Fine Arts
1 Credit Required
Art and Music Appreciation (1 credit) or Fine Art (1 credit)
Health Education
1 Credit Required
Health (1 credit) or Life Time Fitness (1 credit)

2 Foreign Language Credits recommended for college bound students.
Credits earned beyond requirements in a subject are earned as elective credit.
Students may also choose from a variety of electives listed in the course catalog.
