Enabling Scripting

Complete the steps below to enable scripting in your browser.

For AOL 4.0/5.0:

  1. Select Preferences from the My AOL menu on your browser
  2. Click on 'WWW'
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Select 'Custom' and click on the 'Settings..' button
  5. Make sure Enable is selected under 'Active Scripting' and 'Scripting of Java Applets'
  6. Click 'OK', 'Apply', and then 'OK'

For AOL 6.0/7.0:

  1. Select Preferences from the Settings menu on your browser
  2. Click on 'Internet Properties' (WWW)
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Select 'Custom Level' and scroll to 'Scripting'
  5. Make sure 'Enable' is selected under 'Active Scripting' and 'Scripting of Java Applets'
  6. Click 'OK', 'Apply', and then 'OK'

For Internet Explorer:

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu on your browser
  2. Select the Security tab, and click on the 'Custom Level' button
  3. Scroll down to the 'Scripting' Section, and under 'Active Scripting' select either 'Enable' or 'Prompt'
  4. Click on 'OK' to close the Security Settings dialog box
  5. Click 'Apply' and 'OK' to close the Internet Options dialog box

For Netscape:

  1. Select Preferences from your browser's Edit menu
  2. Click on Advanced from the list in the left-hand pane of the dialog box
  3. Make sure that the 'Enable Javascript' box is checked
  4. Click 'OK' to close the dialog box
