AOL Login Issues
If you are experiencing problems accessing Keystone's eSchool as an AOL user, please read the following instructions or contact AOL's Technical Support or Customer Service number to report that you are not able to access https://kcdistancelearning.blackboard.com.
To set parental controld to allow access to all Web sites, please follow the steps below:
NOTE: Please sign on with a Master Screen Name. A Master Screen Name is the first screen name you created for this account and any screen name you have assigned Master Screen Name status at Keyword: NAMES.
- Click on SETTINGS on the AOL toolbar, then click on PARENTAL CONTROLS.
- Click on SET PARENTAL CONTROLS.
- Select the Screen Name whose settings you wish to modify from the Edit controls for box, use the Green Arrows to scroll down in the Custom Controls box, then click on the GREEN BOX next to Web Control.
- Select General Access, then click on SAVE.
- Click on OK.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Parental Controls windows.
If you continue to receive "Page not found" or "Page cannot be displayed" error messages, please refer to the information below:
DELETE THE TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES
The Temporary Internet Files may cause this issue and should be deleted by following these steps:
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
NOTE: In Windows XP, click on Start, select Control Panel, select Network and Internet Connections, then click on Internet Options. - Click on DELETE FILES in the Temporary Internet Files area.
- Select Delete all offline content, then click on OK.
NOTE: If the Member receives an error message or the computer cannot remove the files, please contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft. Please refer to the documentation that came with your computer for contact information.
DELETE THE COOKIES IN INTERNET EXPLORER 5.X
WARNING: The following steps will delete your Cookies. These files may contain personal information that you have entered on Web pages, such as passwords. Make sure you have copies of this information before you delete these files.
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
- Click on SETTINGS in the Temporary Internet Files area.
- Click on VIEW FILES.
- Click on EDIT on the menu bar, then click on SELECT ALL.
- Click on FILE, then click on DELETE.
- Click on YES to delete the selected Cookies.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Temporary Internet Files window.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Control Panel window.
DELETE THE COOKIES IN INTERNET EXPLORER 6.X
WARNING: The following steps will delete your Cookies. These files may contain personal information that you have entered on Web pages, such as passwords. Make sure you have copies of this information before you delete these files.
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS. NOTE: In Windows XP, click on Start, select Control Panel, select Network and Internet Connections, then click on Internet Options.
- Click on DELETE COOKIES in the Temporary Internet Files area.
- Click on OK.
- Click on OK to close the Internet Properties window.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Control Panel window.
RESTORE THE INTERNET EXPLORER SECURITY SETTINGS
Restoring the Internet Explorer Security settings may resolve the issue.
NOTE: Please close any Web pages that may be open.
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
NOTE: In Windows XP, click on Start, then click on Control Panel. - Double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
- Click on the SECURITY tab.
- Click on DEFAULT LEVEL, then click on OK.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Control Panel window.
RESET INTERNET EXPLORER 6.X PRIVACY PREFERENCES
- Click on START, select Settings, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
NOTE: In Windows XP, click on Start, then click on Control Panel. - Double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
- Click on the PRIVACY tab.
- Click on DEFAULT, then click on OK.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Control Panel window.
DETERMINE IF YOUR WEB BROWSER SUPPORTS 128-BIT ENCRYPTION
Your Web browser must support 128-bit encryption. Please determine if your Web browser supports 128-bit encryption.
- Click on START, select PROGRAMS, then click on INTERNET EXPLORER.
NOTE: In Windows XP, click on Start, the click on Internet Explorer. - Click on HELP on the menu bar, then click on ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER.
- Note the Cipher Strength to determine if your browser supports 128-bit encryption, then click on OK.
- Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Internet Explorer window.
NOTE: If the Cipher Strength line reads 0-bit, 40-bit, 56-bit, or any level other than 128-bit, please contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft. If your copy of Windows came pre-installed on the computer, your computer manufacturer should provide support. Refer to the documentation that came with the computer for contact information.
REPAIR MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER
Damaged Web browser files may cause this issue. Please repair Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Check the version of Internet Explorer
- Click on START, select PROGRAMS, select AMERICA ONLINE, then click on AOL SYSTEM INFORMATION. The window will open, which will take a moment.
- Note the Browser Version, then click on CLOSE.
- Repair Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (MSIE)
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
- Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools, then click on CHANGE OR REMOVE or ADD/REMOVE.
NOTE: If the window does not list Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools, click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Add/Remove Programs and Control Panel windows. Please follow the instructions to upgrade to MSIE 5.5.
- Select Repair Internet Explorer, then click on OK.
- Click on YES. The repair will run, then Windows will prompt you to restart your computer.
NOTE: If you receive any error message while running the repair, please contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft for further assistance. Please refer to the documentation that came with the computer for contact information
- Upgrade to MSIE 5.5
NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1, 5.5 SP2, or Internet Explorer 6.x, do not download the Web browser from Keyword: BROWSER. Damage to the operating system or Internet Explorer may result.
- Sign on to AOL as you would normally.
- Click on the KEYWORD button on the AOL toolbar.
- In the Keyword box, type BROWSER then click on GO.
- Click on UPGRADE.
- Note the approximate download time, then click on DOWNLOAD NOW.
NOTE: The file SWSETUP.EXE will download and install automatically. When the download is complete, AOL will close automatically. During the installation, when you are prompted to restart your computer, click on OK.
- Repair Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x (MSIE)
- Click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
- Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, then click on CHANGE/REMOVE or ADD/REMOVE.
NOTE: If the window does not list Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools, click on the X in the upper right corner to close the Add/Remove Programs and Control Panel windows. Please contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft for further assistance. Please refer to the documentation that came with the computer for contact information.
WARNING: If you are already using Internet Explorer 6.x, do not attempt to install the Internet Explorer 5.x Web browser from Keyword: BROWSER. Damage to the operating system may result.
- Select Repair Internet Explorer, then click on OK.
- Click on YES. The repair will run, then you will be prompted to restart your computer.
