How do I enroll?
Enrollment depends on your needs. Are you looking to earn a Keystone Diploma or are you looking to supplement your education with a handful of courses?
KEYSTONE DIPLOMA
If you are looking to enroll towards receiving a Keystone Diploma, the first step is to forward your transcript from your previous school so that we can evaluate how many of your courses will transfer. Please include your current address and phone number when sending in your transcript. We receive transcripts by email, fax, and by postal mail. (All our contact information is below.)
Keystone will complete a transcript evaluation to determine which courses transfer to Keystone, and which courses remain to be taken toward graduation. We require a student to take a minimum of five courses (one in each core area plus in elective) in order to graduate from Keystone. The evaluation will be mailed back to you within seven to ten days along with a Keystone catalog, enrollment form and payment plan information. We will call you at that point to walk you through the evaluation and the remainder of the enrollment process.
If you have any questions along the way, feel free to call us toll free at 800-255-4937.

What are dual credit courses? When will they be ready?
Dual-credit courses are college-level courses designed for college-bound high school students. Students can further challenge themselves, save money by paying for high school and college credit for the price of one, and take a big step towards transitioning into college.
Keystone was making every attempt to offer dual-credit courses for the fall, and we were working with a partner to make that possible. However, as we progressed with the program, we determined that it was not meeting the level of quality and fit on which we pride ourselves. As such, we are not offering dual-credit courses this fall.
However, we are making every effort to do so for the winter enrollment period. It is our mission to help all our students achieve their potential, and we believe that a dual-credit program serves that end.
As we work through the building of this program, we’d love to get your feedback on what you would like to see in a dual credit program. If you’d like to give input and contribute to Keystone’s development, please leave your contact information with us by emailing us at info@keystonehighschool.com.
What are Honors courses?
Honors courses are courses that represent an academic level of excellence that is above and beyond the standards of a normal Keystone course. Keystone's mission is to help students achieve their potential, and part of that is providing a challenging and rigorous Honors Program.
Honors courses are designed so that the student must complete -- on average -- an additional 20 hours of work. That additional work is focused on obtaining and testing higher-order thinking skills such as the synthesis and evaluation of course content. These thinking skills may be applied through an additional research project, an evaluation of a scientific study, or other applications.
Honors courses are appropriate for students seeking to excel and demonstrate that they can complete more challenging work in a particular subject area. Honors courses are appropriate for students looking for more of a challenge, that are college bound, or that seek a deeper mastery of a subject.
Keystone honors courses are currently offered in the following subjects: American Government; Biology; Chemistry; Civics; Earth Science; Economics; English 1, 2 or 3; Geography; and World History.
How do I know that Keystone’s curriculum is what it should be?
Keystone National High School's curriculum includes more than 50 courses that allow students to complete their high school studies while broadening their knowledge in specific subject areas, learn practical life skills and progress at their own pace. All Keystone National High School courses are supported by industry-leading textbooks so that students learn from current material with the highest standards. All Keystone National High School courses are developed by curriculum designers with subject matter expertise; the course content is accurate, up-to-date and presented with authority.
Students chose from a wide variety of courses that include core subjects areas such as math, English and foreign languages as well as interesting and practical electives. Each Keystone National High School course is designed for multiple skill levels — introductory, core, AP and honors.
How long do I have to complete a Keystone course?
Students are given up to a full calendar year to complete a full credit course. If students need an extention after that point, they need only call Student Services at 800-255-4937. There is a small fee for extending a course.
Can I fax my exams to you or must they be mailed?
Yes. Students can fax their exams rather than mailing them, but please to be sure to number the pages and send them in order.
What is your deadline for enrollment?
Keystone fits students’ lives by allowing them to study on their own time and at their own pace. That extends to enrollment – feel free to enroll whenever you like by phone, on the web, or by mail. There is no specific time when you must enroll.
How long will it take for me to receive my books?
Your books should arrive 7-10 business days after you enroll, but if you enroll in online courses, you can begin your work in a couple of days after receiving a password and access to your courses.
Can you take half credits?
Yes, most courses are available in half credits.
What are AP Courses?
AP courses are offered to high school juniors and seniors in many subject areas including Science, Math, Social Sciences and Language Arts. These courses offer advanced students the opportunity to progress through a course with more challenging homework and exams, beyond even Honors course study. AP exams are administered every spring by the College Board in your neighborhood during the month of May, and though the exams, students have the opportunity to earn college credit and/or advanced standing at most colleges and universities.
What kind of computer do I need to take online courses?
You can take our online classes using either a PC or a Mac. For a list of the hardware and software that you will need to take our online courses, click here.
As of right now, Linux is not officially supported as an operating system by Keystone. If you are running a current version of Firefox and a current version of Adobe Flash Player, our courses should work just fine; however, there may be issues. If such issues come up, we cannot provide support for them at this time.
