Steven Boughter

by Cathy Soukup

This profile of Mr. Boughter was written by Cathy Soukup, Keystone student and member of the Keystone Connection staff. Following are excerpts from the Teacher Feature:

Mr. Boughter decided to be a teacher when he was going through school himself. He thought it would be great to teach students, so he pursued the career in college. He has now been with Keystone for the past three and a half years. He especially enjoys working with students throughout the country and even in some foreign countries.

Here at Keystone, Steven Boughter teaches ten different sections in the elective class, Spanish, the field in which he is certified. In the past, he has been a substitute teacher for English, Driver's Education, and History. As well as being a teacher, Mr. Boughter has been working for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission as a waterways conservation officer for the past thirteen years. In the little spare time he has, Mr. Boughter likes to play tennis in a league that goes from September through May.

I asked Mr. Boughter if, given the chance, he would decide to be a teacher all over again. He said that it would be great to try something new, since there are so many things in the world to experience, but with the Keystone program he can still enjoy being a teacher while doing other things in life. Thanks, Mr. Boughter; you add so much to the Keystone Community!
