Patricia Jesaitis

by Cathy Soukup

This profile of Mrs. Jesaitis was written by Cathy Soukup, Keystone student and member of the Keystone Connection staff. Following are excerpts from the Teacher Feature:

For the month of December, Keystone has decided to honor Mrs. Patricia Jesaitis as the Teacher of the Month! Here at Keystone, Mrs. Jesaitis teaches Grade 9 English in both the eSchool and iSchool programs. Previously, she had taught all grades of English, but with the multitude of students enrolled in Keystone, she feels that one grade is plenty of work with which to keep busy. Mrs. Jesaitis was first interesting in teaching as a child, and pursued her dreams through school. She especially loved reading and writing, so she decided that she would teach English. Mrs. Jesaitis narrowed her choice to teaching at a high school English level because she loved literature so much.

Along with helping Mrs. Jesaitis with her personal goals, Keystone has made opportunities for many students as well. Mrs. Jesaitis feels that there are so many benefits of distance learning that fall into many facets of life. She has had students who have personal issues in their lives, moving constantly or living in other areas, and others who might have given up graduating high school, but were able to continue with school by working at their own pace and creating their own schedules. Keystone allows so many opportunities that would, in most cases, be impossible, and Mrs. Jesaitis feels that this is the best part about distance learning, and that the benefits are countless.
